The CA 9-1-1 Branch of the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services(CalOES) is embarking on upgrading California’s 9-1-1 System to Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1), following the NENA i3 standards. The i3 specification outlines GIS as a key foundational element within the NG9-1-1 architecture.

This panel discussion will communicate to attendees the concepts and ideas of the "California Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) GIS Task Force".  Specifically the forthcoming initiative of developing and maintaining the GIS statewide database that will require a collaborative effort between state and local governmental agencies.
