Walker Wieland
Walker Wieland is a Research Scientist with the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, or OEHHA, which is part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. His work is focused on CalEnviroScreen, which he has been working on for eight years. From chrome platers to cleanup sites, from particulate matter to pesticides, Walker researches pollution and population-based information to characterize spatial distributions across California. Walker creates and maintain web GIS tools for several projects at OEHHA, serves as OEHHA’s GIS administrator and technical lead, conducts trainings on CalEnviroScreen, and has been chair of the Cal EPA and California State Government GIS user groups. He is also a representative of Cal EPA’s Open Data Steering Committee, and a Toastmaster
